Do you have experience as a Support Worker or caring for young people with learning difficulties? Would you like to take the next step in your career and manage a team of practitioners, or perhaps you're already a Senior Support Worker and would like to become a specialist in supporting young people with severe autism?

This role is responsible for the day to day organisation of the team of Autism Practitioners, their responsibilities and their working practices, the coordination and delegation of tasks, the active involvement in working directly with people with autism, and the health and well-being of the young people within the home.

You will join a team within one of our residential houses, each of which is home to between 4 and 7 young people with autism from the ages of 5 - 25. You will be working a minimum of 3 night shifts per week.

Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 90 young people with autism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior's Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.

Since opening, our autism practitioner / support worker team has grown from around 20 to 500 and we have built a reputation as a leading edge educational, vocational, and residential facility for young people with autism. Job Description

In conjunction with the Home Management Team, our Senior Autism Practitioners are responsible for the day to day organisation of a team of Autism Practitioners. Role modelling outstanding working practices our Senior Autism Practitioners ensure the health and wellbeing of the young people in the home.

Using your experience and knowledge of autism care you will support others to deliver excellent outcomes for young people, enabling them to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives.

Qualifications

You will hold a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) and have experience of working in social care setting. You will also have experience of directing a team, an understanding of value of team work and knowledge of National Standards of Care Osfted/CQC.
