Job Description

Cumbria County Council are currently looking for Social Worker to join their Support & Protection Team.

The role offers competitive pay and an immediate start for the right person.

Option to work a condensed week & working from home available.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out initial / core assessments and reviews
  • Ability to work in partnership with both children and their families
  • Ability to work alongside other key practitioners planning for the best interest of children
  • Ability to work alone and part of a team
  • Absolute commitment to the work of Health and Social Care
  • Ability to organise, prioritise own work and achieve deadlines
  • Work to a high standard of practice
  • Ability to problem solve liaising with other professional bodies where appropriate
  • Setting & maintaining high standards
  • Developing and implementing child centred care plans
  • Attending child protection and safeguarding meetings
  • Report writing
  • Liaising with other professional bodies where appropriate
  • Carry out home visits, child protection investigations and attend court
