Job Description

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please read the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Applicant Information Pack document in the 'Further Links' section before applying for this position. This pack will provide you with all the details you need on how to make your application and what happens next. We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled, Specialist Physiotherapist to join our musculoskeletal inpatient team at St. Michael’s Hospital, in Hayle.

This is a fixed term contract until July 2020.

The post covers an Inpatient adult elective orthopaedics caseload, based on an admissions/daycase ward and an inpatient ward. You will also participate in the daily running of our pre-operative Joint Schools alongside other members of the MDT. We work closely with our colleagues in the Early Supported Discharge Team, and other outside agencies, to ensure patients safe transition back to their home environment. On occasions, you may be required to undertake home visits so access to a vehicle which can be used for work purposes would be an advantage. An appropriate mileage allowance would be paid.

Do you have effective communication skills and a flexible and dynamic approach to your work as an physiotherapist? Do you have good leadership qualities and an ability to work calmly under pressure, both as part of a team and independently?

Can you demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge and training in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal disorders? Would you like the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills? If so, we would love you to join us.

This post is 22.5 hours per week working Monday – Wednesday, to include twilight and weekend shifts on a rota basis.
