Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an innovative and dynamic place to work. Our values - safe, caring, excellent – are at the core of everything we do and are the basis for our interactions with patients and each other.
The Trust is rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission who described our services as effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Basildon Hospital was the first in the country to be rated as ‘outstanding’ for maternity care and our ambition is to become ‘outstanding’ in as many services as possible over the coming months and years.
We offer an extensive range of acute healthcare services at Basildon University Hospital, Orsett Hospital and the St Andrew’s Centre in Billericay. We also provide specialist cardiothoracic services for the whole of Essex and further afield at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, which has a reputation for leading developments in cardiac surgery and cardiology procedures.
We work collaboratively with our NHS partners in mid and south Essex to ensure that local people have access to the best possible healthcare services.
We are part of UCLPartners, an academic health and science partnership with over 40 members who together form one of the world’s leading centres of medical innovation and education. We offer a professional environment where all staff have excellent education, coaching, mentoring, training and development opportunities.
We are looking for talented individuals who are committed to working as part of our healthcare team delivering an excellent, caring service to patients.
Take a look our Trust values video on our website and see if you have what it takes to be one of the team!
Applications are invited for the position of Urology Registrar (Speciality Doctor) to support both the elective and non-elective urology work at Urology SpR Level 4 or above at Basildon Hospital.
This is a unique opportunity for a person who is enthusiastic, motivated and looking for a career in Urology and would like to progress their career through experience. We have a very busy Urology Department and the person appointed will be fortunate to have an unopposed opportunity to enhance their experience and training in Urology. Although this is not a formal training post there is no trainee SpR in the Department thus allowing the appointee to have an opportunity to advance their career through the alternative route.
The Surgical Directorate in this hospital is known for supporting doctors to progress their career.
