Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

Unscheduled care division
Staff nurses, WARD 23. GENERAL MEDICAL WARD.
We are currently looking to recruit Permanent Band 5's to work as part of our motivated and supportive team on Ward 23. Ward 23 is a Care of the Older Persons Ward, which specialises in Frailty Assessment. We care for a variety of patients with both acute and long term conditions including Respiratory, Oncology, Frailty, Endocrinology and Gastroenterology.
Anyone interested in joining our team must display an enthusiastic and dynamic approach in caring for our acute elderly patients. As a permanent fixture in our team you must be adaptable and willing to learn and develop within the role. Our commitment to you is to provide the environment for this to happen and ensure that you are supported in your role. We have an excellent multi-disciplinary team who ensure that our patients care is delivered safely, effectively and compassionately.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £23+£4 (standard disclosure) or £40+£4 (enhanced disclosure) can be deducted from salary, in manageable monthly installments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
Applicants are encouraged where possible, to register for the DBS update service, which will save the cost of repeated disclosures between employers, in return for a annual registration fee of £13.
