We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our Cardiac Interventional Department. The individual should be dynamic with strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for caring for patients who have cardiac conditions. You will be responsible for promoting a high standard of nursing care and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to adopt a team approach to problem-solving and therefore good communication and organisational skills are essential. The successful applicant will be supported with their training and development within the team, therefore previous cardiology experience is not essential and we would welcome applicants who are newly qualified. You will be working within a friendly and supportive team who are enthusiastic and strive to deliver high quality care whilst maintaining patient safety. This means placing the patient at the centre of their care.
You will work closely within the Cardiology team to assist in the preparation of patients undergoing diagnostic coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and pacemaker implantation. As an Angiography nurse you will be expected to perform the role of scrub nurse within the Catheter lab and Pacing suite using sterile techniques. You will also be responsible for recovering patients after a procedure on the cardiology day case ward.
This Trust are committed to the continued development and improvement in cardiology services for the local population. Looking forward we are in the initial planning stages to deliver a Primary PCI (angioplasty) service for the emergency treatment of patients presenting with an acute myocardial infarction. This will provide the successful applicant with an exciting opportunity to play an integral part in helping to deliver this service.
