Acute Paediatric Unit
We have the following vacancy for a full time band 5 staff nurse:
Band 5 Staff Nurses Paediatric Assessment Unit: 11.5hr shifts between 9am and 10pm 7 days per week but no rotation to night duty
We are currently recruiting registered nurses to join our committed and forward thinking team in our busy paediatric assessment unit. If you are confident, motivated and willing to learn new skills and extend your practice as opportunities arise, we would be excited to hear from you.
The Paediatric Assessment unit, adjacent to the wards, has 7 beds with additional space for ambulatory patients. The unit takes referrals from GPs and our A/E department. Children are either discharged home from the assessment area or admitted to one of the wards.
We are a busy paediatric unit with a 26 bedded medical ward with a 2 bed high dependency and a medical day case clinic. An 18 bedded surgical/oncology ward and a Neonatal intensive/special care unit.

We have specific band 5 development programmes, and we are one of the first UK hospitals to introduce the Daisy Award, this is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful and compassionate care nurses provide every day.
