We presently have permanent band 5 vacancies in our department and are looking to attract nurses with A+E experience who are looking to continue to develop their emergency nursing skills in a standalone Children’s Emergency Department within the Children’s Hospital.
The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital has a long history of progressive and innovative paediatric care embracing medicine, nursing and related professions, children’s nurse training and research. It is a leading children’s centre on the South East Coast for tertiary and general paediatrics in a variety of specialities: surgery, gastroenterology, diabetes, respiratory medicine, oncology care, day care services. We have a busy 24 hour dedicated children’s emergency department and high dependency unit. RACH works closely with the neonatal service providing support and services for neonates such as surgery.
Our Children’s Emergency Department (CED) cares for children and young people with acute presentation of illness and injury, including the management of life-threatening conditions and traumatic injuries. Children are referred from their GP, midwife or ambulance service in addition to self-presentation. The department works closely with all clinical areas and has a 2 bedded resuscitation room. We also have an emergency nurse practitioner service that sees and treats numerous presentations and injuries.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ideally experienced Nurse who wants to make a real difference to the patients in our care. You should expect to be supported, supervised, challenged and mentored by our experienced staff. We are looking forward to welcoming someone to our team and supporting them and their work life balance to progress their career in a great seaside location.

Salaries for substantive posts will be offered to successful candidates in alignment with the NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. All our substantive colleagues will also receive an annual appraisal. For substantive colleagues appointed after 1 April 2019, this guides their progression through the salary steps.
