Surgical Nurse | Surgical Ward | Band 5/6 Equivalent depending on experience | Liverpool | Friendly team

Spire Liverpool are currently looking for a dynamic Staff Nurse who is passionate about providing the highest level of patient care. You will be providing care for patients who have gone through a diverse range of treatments: ENT, neurological, orthopaedic, laparoscopic, ophthalmic, gynaecology and urology to name a few. No day will be the same and you will never be short of new skills to learn.

This is challenging work, but it is incredibly rewarding. You will meet these challenges head-on while being supported by management with years of experience behind them, and a team of nurses and HCAs who all share our passion for working hard and providing next-level care. You will also benefit from a 1 – 6 patient to nurse ratio, allowing you to provide the level of time and attention to your patients required to make sure they receive the best possible experience while receiving treatment at Spire Liverpool.

You will also be joining a hospital that is receiving continual investment. In fact, we are about to open a new overnight facility and an ambulatory unit is on the way.

Who we are looking for

  • That you are NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Have a minimum of 6 months, post-graduation, hospital experience.
  • Be passionate about working hard and delivering the highest level of care.
  • Have the ability to work a mixture of days, nights and the occasional weekend

And although not essential, it would be an added bonus if:

  • You have experience working within a surgical setting.
  • Experience of acute medicine.

Duties and responsibilities

  • You will be joining a high performing team of experienced nurses who constantly receive excellent patient satisfaction feedback.
  • You will provide the highest possible level of care to both post and pre-op patients, going through a wide range of procedures.
  • You will be able to notice early signs of patient deterioration following surgery and act accordingly.
  • You will be working on a ratio of 1 nurse to 5 or 6 patients giving you the time to give complete care to your patients.
  • And you will be doing all of this across 3 wards.
