The John Radcliffe west wing theatre provide expertise and excellence in routine and emergency surgery including adult and paediatric patient care, ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Neuro, Paediatric Ortho /General and Max Facs surgery. The operating theatres offer a wide range of general and specialist clinical services with links to the Oxford Universities for education, training and research. The JR represents a dynamic centre on which to build upon clinical experience and professional development.

We have a vacancy for a senior member of staff to join our ENT and Ophthalmology Team. Prospective applicants must have a minimum of 3 years post registration theatre scrub experience ideally in ENT and ophthalmology surgery. However, if you are an experience ENT scrub practitioner and would relish the challenge of developing your surgical and managerial skill in this area, we will consider your application. You will be expected to lead in the delivery of safe, evidence base patient care. You should hold a teaching/mentor accredited course and be able to demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skill. Your development will involve an induction period that includes competencies to achieve and this is supported with a clearly defined educational strategy detailing continuing professional development. Experienced staff are encouraged and supported to further develop using the educational and experiential learning opportunities available.

Do you have experience of working in theatres with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for the highest standards of perioperative care and safety? If so then we would like you to encourage you to come and join our team. Due to an increase in activities of Oxford University Hospital are looking for passionate and dedicated nurse or ODP to work in ENT theatre.

A flexible attitude is required to deliver patient care and meet service demands. You may be based on one site but there is an expectation for you to be deployed to other units to provide assistance as required, therefore, a flexible attitude is required to accommodate the surgical requirements of each department.

This post includes a commitment to day/night, bank holiday and weekend working with participation in an O/C rota.
