Are you a friendly face who can make a difference in our home?

The role of a Support Worker in our Residential Care Home is one of the most important; you are the friendly smiling face our residents rely on, and your hard work and dedication can make a huge and positive difference to their lives of people who struggle to live independently.

Our team is looking for a compassionate, warm, and caring person to join our team as a Support Worker.

About Us
The Gables, situated on Cleator Moor Road, Whitehaven, is a newly built care home that can accommodate up to 60 residents, providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment to those who are physically frail, highly dependent and people with Dementia.

The Role
This is a varied, challenging and incredibly rewarding role where you will support our residents with all aspects of their wellbeing, providing both physical and emotional care. This includes assistance with personal care, such as washing, toileting and feeding. You will also be an emotional support to our residents, getting to know each of them individually: sharing and talking about their interests, the past, family and hobbies, as well as helping our residents enjoy getting out into the community- e.g. taking trips out to the shops and local facilities.

You will also be responsible for administering medication, ensuring all security checks are completed, dealing with emergencies and assisting our Residents with any of their needs.

Who we are looking for:

We're looking for someone that is passionate about looking after people and supporting our resident's wellbeing. The ideal candidate would have an NVQ2 in Health and Care, but we are also happy to support candidates through this training. Overall, the ideal candidate would be kind, friendly, considerate and flexible.

If this sounds like you and you share our passion for the service then apply today.

In return, we can offer you:

Access to training and development
A friendly and supportive working environment
The chance to work in a brand new residential home, with exceptional facilities
Generous Annual Leave entitlement
Challenging and rewarding work
Cycle to work scheme
Employee benefits and discounts
Local Government Pension Scheme
Free eye test and glasses for display screen users
