Support Worker – Full-time /Part-time
£16-19k per annum

Amber Mace are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join the team at a residential home in Stratford Upon Avon. The home provides residential care for adults living with learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairment, and challenging behaviour.

As Support Worker, you will ideally have experience working in a similar role, have an understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities or challenging behaviour, and have a naturally caring and attentive personality.

The role also includes taking part in daily activities, day trips out and getting to know the residents on a friendly basis.

The key responsibilities of our Support Workers include:

•Provide a high standard of individual care and personal care to residents at all times
•Working well as part of the care team
•Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
•Ability to remain calm under pressure
•Possess high regard for personal safety and the safety of residents, visitors and staff
•Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work legislation; in particular, in the moving and handling of residents and fire safety/evacuation procedures
•Willing to further professional development by participating in appraisals and team meetings
•Adhere to all company and local policies/procedures

Whilst knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn’t essential. What is essential is that you are:
• Passionate, caring and enthusiastic
• Flexible, patient and non-judgemental
• A great team player with lots of energy
• Able to demonstrate good communication skills
• Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling
