I am a young gentleman who lives at home with my parents. I suffered from severe hypoxic injury to the brain at birth which resulted in cerebral palsy with complex healthcare needs. Due to this, I have epilepsy, require a wheelchair and need skilled care to provide me support through a 24-hour period. I have a tracheostomy and gastrostomy in place.
The role includes assisting or driving me to college in the morning, supporting me with my health needs throughout the day alongside college staff and assisting or driving me home after college. During college holidays support will be provided at my home.
I am looking for a dedicated support worker preferably with prior experience of tracheostomy and gastrostomy care although full training will be provided. I also have a high level of anxiety which requires my support worker to provide me with assurance.
A full, valid driving licence is required as you will be driving the client's car as needed.
