Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated support worker to join the team at this service providing support for adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs.

Wren Park is a large detached house with spacious surroundings that can accommodate up to 17 people across 3 areas Gresham, Wadham and Pembroke. Each area has its own front door and individuals hold their own key to this and to their rooms. There is also a shared lounge, kitchen, bathrooms and laundry areas. All bedrooms are single occupancy and 13 have en-suite facilities . The rooms on the 1st floor are larger in size and can be accommodated as bedsits to enable individuals to practice more independent living in a safe environment. All floors are served by a lift. Individuals will hold their own tenancy with the Landlord.
Main responsibilities

The people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice. Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.

Could this be you?

Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same. You'll be providing support for day-to-day living, such as social activities, sports and hobbies, employment, holidays etc along with support with general household duties such as cooking, cleaning and money management. In some services, you may be required to undertake personal care.

Our services operate 24/7, so you will work in shifts (as allocated by your manager). This means you may need to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You may also be required to undertake sleep-in shifts on a rota basis.

Ideal candidate

We believe that a successful Support Worker doesn't always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that 'every moment has potential' for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.

An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.

Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.
