Job Summary

We are recruiting a Support Worker on behalf of one of our clients within the Newport Area. Our client is an innovative, rapidly expanding organisation that provides specialist care, education, and treatment for individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs or learning disabilities and other specialist care needs. A successful candidate will have a patient and caring nature and be passionate about delivering caring excellence. Working within a dedicated team within the local community, you will normally work 38.5 hours per week with flexible shifts which will include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Job Role

Our successful candidates will:-

• Be part of a dedicated team aiming to improve the lives, self-esteem and independence of all the people within their care.

• Support individuals with complex and enduring mental health or learning disabilities

• Work within a specialist care home environment

Education, Skills and qualifications

In order to be considered for the position, our support workers will:-

• Have excellent communication skills

• Experience supporting those with learning disabilities is desirable

• Demonstrate enthusiasm and an innovative approach to enriching the lives of others

• Have a desire to learn

• Agree to undertake an enhanced DBS check

• Have the ability to work well with others

• Be compassionate and understanding

Although experience of working in a similar role within the care sector is desirable, it is not essential as we are looking for people with life experience in general.

Flexible shift patterns, normally 38.5 hours per week. Overtime is encouraged and can be made available upon request
