Job Description

*Experienced Support Worker / Shift Lead*

Full Time contract from £8.10 - £8.60 per hour


Role Overview:

In conjunction with and under the instruction of the Field Support supervisor: you will assist with the day to day supervision and management of the service. Inclusive of:

  • Allocating working shifts allocation to staff,
  • Service visits and training days,
  • Participation in the recruitment and induction of new staff.
  • Assisting with individuals' care, including personal care.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of individuals' support plans.
  • Undertaking and/or assisting individuals with household activities in order to promote a healthy environment and independent living.
  • Recording and completing any appropriate documentation to ensure an individuals' records, observations or research results are accurate and informative.
  • Ordering, receiving, storing and administering medication in accordance with the company's Administration of Medication Policy.


  • NVQ level 2 /3 or equivalent care qualification in Health & Social Care.
  • Relevant employed experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • MAPA trained
  • Knowledge and experience of working with "Challenging Behaviour"
  • Experience of providing support to individuals with a variety of different specialist needs and conditions, including: learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, nursing needs, mental health conditions, neurological impairments, psychiatric and clinical needs, complex behaviours and other needs.

**Should your employment with Voyage Care terminate for any reason within the first 3 months of your employment start date, the full cost of the DBS will be repayable back to us. Deducted from your final salary
