We have a fantastic job opportunity for an interested candidate that is keen on impacting lives of vulnerable young people and adults at risk of homelessness in Oldham. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,200 Per Annum (FTE) Plus Pension and Other Benefits.

Depaul UK works with some of the most disadvantaged young people in the UK. We specialise in working in communities where poverty and long-term unemployment have resulted in generations of social exclusion and high rates of homelessness

Over the past 30 years, we have grown as an organisation and developed and enhanced our work and the impact it has across the UK. Depaul UK has a wide range of services for young people and adults at risk of homelessness.

The Support Worker Role:

The selected candidate will be employed as Support Worker to provide support to our residents at our (ABEN) supported accommodation, so that the residents can move from emergency accommodation to their own independent accommodations.

As a Support Worker, you will manage a caseload of young people, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs so that they can develop the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.

You will run group sessions and other key activities within the accommodation to support residents’ individual development and social engagement. Also, you will ensure the accommodation is properly maintained and take an active role in the upkeep of the physical spaces of the accommodation.

This job offers shift work pattern including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

What will ideally support your success in this role?

You will have excellent communication skills and be committed to the values and ethos of Depaul UK.

  • Great experience working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness
  • A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
