Kirby Muxloe

Job Description

Support Worker (Part time)

Leicester

£8.35 an hour plus fantastic benefits

Ref: ASVU462760

Do you have a passion to help others? Want to share your talents and interests whether it be theatre, music, maths, or cooking?

Help our Award winning charity to support and empower people with learning disabilities - it's one of the most heartfelt feelings in the world and something that will stay with you forever...

We are seeking experienced and non experienced part time Support Workers at our fantastic care facility at Kirby Muxloe.

Outline

You will be supporting 2 men with a range of activities from the everyday living needs and 'must dos' (such as helping our young men to learn about house keeping and balancing the books), through to the lighter side of life doing things like becoming involved with the local community, going to the theatre, listening to music, practising maths, or learning to cook new and tasty meals.

From time to time, you may be required to cover shifts for our outreach service. On occasions, we encounter challenging behaviour however, full training and support is provided so you'll know how best to approach this if and when it arises. There may also be some personal care involved too.

This is the perfect place for you to really make a huge difference to our adults by supporting and encouraging them to try new things and nurture their learning.

About Us

We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.

We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.

What we need from you

Firstly, you don't need experience to become a Support Worker but it's not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it's something you'll never forget.

Please note that you will need to be a driver with your own transport insured for business use.
