Support Worker (Relief)
£8.30 an hour plus benefits
What a heart warming feeling it is to bring a smile to anothers face. But do you know what lasts longer than a smile? The feeling of supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to live a life that makes sense to them.
Seeing the difference that YOU can make. Now that IS rewarding….
We have a vacancy supporting adults for a full-time Relief Support Worker in our Lifelong Learning Centre in Old Whittington, Chesterfield. This position is for 38 hours per week.
You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. We support up to about 30 people at Lifelong Learning Centre, whose ages range from about 35 up to 60.
You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. We have a full packed timetable from day trips out to Bowling, Boccia, Curling, Swimming, Walking, Baking and much more.
Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication. Some of the people can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support however, we will provide you with full training to facilitate positive behaviour along with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service (Frontline Manager).
Most of the shifts are daytime, but some flexibility may be required due to the activity or the person you will be supporting.
Who are we?
