About the Role:
As a Support Worker at our day service, Barnsley Road Outreach and Community Support (BROCS) in Wakefield, you will work with people who have varying degrees of learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, mental health needs and challenging behaviour. You will support with all aspects of every day living to encourage their independence and support them to lead the most fulfilling life possible, incorporating both therapy and social based activities.
Whilst no two days are the same typically, you will support people who wish to participate in home and living activities with the opportunity to practice their daily living skills in a supportive environment. You will also support people with activities such as sensory, art, craft, music, movement and drama, gym and community outings. As part of the role you will also support people in their own home, at work, in an educational setting or in the community meeting their wishes, interests and needs.
We are currently recruiting a Support Worker to join our established and experienced team of superheroes. You must be available to work flexibly both within the day service and out in the community. This involves some early morning, evenings, weekend working and sleep in shifts in addition to working some shifts within the day service (9am-4pm).
We welcome candidates to apply who are new to care in addition to those who are experienced support workers. Car drivers with their own vehicle are essential.

COVID19 safety is important to us all, we support our staff and the people we support to stay safe by wearing correct PPE, including Type IIR Fluid Resistant Surgical Masks (FRSM), aprons and gloves at all times. We have a in-house team that ensures that all of our services have plenty of PPE at all times. All care and support is carried out following the latest Government guidance.
