Job Description

We are exclusively seeking passionate and professional Support Workers who go all-out to provide the very best care for one of our fantastic care providers.

About the role:

Our client in Singleton is seeking full time Support Workers for their 19 bedded residential home. The home specialises in adults aged 18-65 with learning disabilities and the most current CQC report is rated 'GOOD' in all areas.

Key details:

Both Day and Night positions are available.

On Days this a full-time role with 40 hours/week including 1 sleeping night shift.

The pay is £8.50/hour for days plus £78 for a sleeping night. (£16,500+ salary)

Shifts are 8am - 3pm or 3pm - 10pm. These can be combined to have long days 8am - 10pm should you wish but is down to personal preference.

For Nights the hours are 10pm - 8am on a 40 hours per week contract. This pays the base rate of £8.50 per hour with a £2.00 per hour waking night bonus. (£10.50 per hour)

Support Worker Main Duties:

Supporting the other Support Workers and Senior Support Workerss in delivering the highest quality of care

Following residents specific care plans

Support residents with personal care (toileting, washing and dressing)

Maintain residents dignity and independence

Monitoring residents conditions by taking temperatures, pulse etc.

Manual handling - Lifting and helping residents move around

Practical support - Making beds, preparing food & Laundry

Support the residents to have the highest possible levels of independence

Support Worker Skills Needed:

The ideal care assistant will have a positive and caring attitude with good communication skills. Reliability and a strong team/work ethic are essential within this role.

Support Worker Skills Desired:

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social is desirable although not essential. Previous experience of working within a care home/home care/hospital setting is desirable and sometimes essential for our clients.

Our clients are willing to develop their Support Workers through the necessary qualifications to help them fulfil their job role and progress their careers further into Senior Support Workers and team leaders.
