This is a great job opportunity for a Synthetic Organic Chemist at a pharmaceutical CRO firm based in the Midlands region. The Synthetic Chemist role is ideal for an experienced synthetic organic chemist with proven industrial expertise, or a PhD in a related area of research. This position is in an important team, supplying both internal and external clients with labelled small molecules in the support of the drug discovery and development process, such as for clinical trials and ADME studies. The successful appointment will be able to build a broad synthetic-related skillset, and a solid mindset towards high value project management, for excellent career progression potential.
Your day to day duties as a Synthetic Chemist will be:
Executing synthetic projects utilising a variety of organic chemistry methodology Use of high-purity, low volume purification techniques such as preparative HPLC Managing demanding timescales, with several projects running simultaneously Working on client-supplied routes, and optimising where required
You will be an ideal candidate with this background:
A degree, or equivalent, in a relevant organic chemistry field A track record in synthetic route design and execution in academia or industry A good team-working approach and excellent written and verbal communication skills The desire to continue a high-level of career development Specific knowledge of handling radiolabelled compounds is highly desirable
