Sandwell Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Team Manager to work within the Care Management Team.

As a Team Manager you will supervise Social Workers whose workload has the following responsibilities:

    • Responsibility for a complex caseload of children and young people, conducting a range of assessments whilst listening to the views of the children and young people they are supporting.
    • Using best practice and ensuring all legislative requirements are met, they will deliver high quality children's plans in a proactive and timely manner, with a strong emphasis on the child's voice.
    • Empowering children, young people and their families/carers by listening to their views.
    • Provision of good quality written reports suitable for a varied audience
    • Responsibility of casework for Children in Care, those subject to Child Protection plans, subject to Child in Need plans and Court proceedings.

The right candidate:-

  • The ability to work within a challenging environment, to ensure that robust plans deliver timely interventions for children and young people.
  • Provide good quality support and guidance to social workers to ensure our social workers have the best possible experience of oversight and leadership.
  • Will be invested in the development of Social Workers within their team.
  • An inspirational leader with excellent management skills and the ability to encourage team working.
  • A Qualified Social Worker with significant experience in Children's Services
  • Experienced in supervising and managing a team
  • Ideally experienced within the court arena
  • Highly knowledgeable of the latest policy and guidance around children's social care and safeguarding
  • Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a head for complexity, and know how to improve services.
