Our client in Manchester is looking for a theatre nurse/ODP to join their theatre department. You will be working alongside a highly skilled team of theatre staff and reporting to the Theatre manager.

Our client is a cosmetic surgery specialist private clinic in central Manchester. They were established originally in 1983 on Harley Street and have become one of the UK’s largest provider of plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments with 12 clinics worldwide.

The clinic is conveniently located closely to various sights and forms of entertainment that you could visit during breaks or time off work. These Include the science and industry museum, the Odeon cinema and even the Manchester Opera House.

Duties and responsibilities

• To assist/scrub with various types of surgical procedures including Vaser liposuction, fat transfer, ENT snoring procedures, and varicose veins EVLT and phlebectomy procedures and some plastic surgery procedures.
• To assist in pre and post operative care of patients, admitting and discharging patients.
• Ensuring that the theatre is in a state of readiness prior to lists beginning.
• All items required for the cases are at hand and available on request.
• Prepared to work in recovery for continuity of patient care.
• Must be well organised motivated and work well within a team, supporting each other as necessary.
• Assisting with the smooth running of the theatre list as and when required.
• Working with the Theatre Manager to ensure that the theatre stock is kept at optimum levels. 
• Optimise customer care and experience and effectively utilise time. 
• Be involved in control of stock/consumables 
• Liaison with outside suppliers and manufacturers.  
• Flexibility around business requirements
• Act as chaperone support as required by doctors & nurses.
• Provide support for the nursing team, including recording clinical information.
• Chaperone doctors & surgeons as required.
• Record clinical information.
• Cover the out of hours on call phone according to the on call rota.
