Anaesthetic Team Leader | Theatres | No Nights | Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday on call | Band 6 equivalent dependent on experience | Worcester | Full time

Due to expansion, Spire South Bank have an opportunity for an experienced Anaesthetic Nurse / Practitioner to lead a small, tight knit team within our theatre department.

Spire South Bank Hospital has been in operation for 30 years providing quality private healthcare to the local population and beyond, earning a reputation as a leader in Worcestershire. We work with some of the areas most experienced Consultant Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Physicians to deliver tailored, personalised care. We are proud of the positive patient feedback we receive and are currently undertaking refurbishment of our in-patient bedrooms following significant recent investment.

Duties and responsibilities:

This is a critical role and alongside clinical duties, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor your team and act up as a Theatre Manager to cover leave.

You will be provided with the opportunity to get hands-on with service development and continuous improvement and be pivotal in effecting change.

This is the perfect opportunity for a passionate and driven ODP or Theatre Nurse to develop their leadership skills and earn managerial experience.

To achieve all this, you will have full support from your Theatre Manager, alongside access to all the training and learning opportunities you need, including management and leadership CPD.

We are extremely passionate about our learning and development programmes which has recently been recognised by winning the prestigious Nursing Times Award for Best Workplace for Learning and Development (Over 1,500 Nursing Staff).

Who we're looking for:

  • Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Anaesthetics/ Recovery
  • Experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision
  • Ideally you will be in a Team Leader position already, however we will consider applications from senior practitioners with some leadership experience who are wanting to develop their career and take the next step.
  • Mentorship/Leadership qualification would be advantageous
  • HCPC or NMC registration with no conditions or restrictions
  • Be able to build and hold relationships with consultants
  • Excellent communication skills
