Our client is currently have a great opportunity for you to start or develop a career in the third sector, by joining them as a Trainee Support Worker - Homelessness to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, based inwithin their Redbridge (Ilford, Essex) adult accommodation services. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,403 - £25,731 per annum.

Ryedale Court is a 40-bed complex needs service that supports people who have a few needs, based around their mental health, substance use, physical health, offending behaviour and homelessness. They take a trauma informed approach to their work and provide intensive 24/7 support to their residents, believing in an approach centered around each individual.

About the Trainee Support Worker role:

As a Trainee Support Worker, you will be working in a varied and rewarding role, amongst a committed and supportive team that aims to run services that safely house their residents, whilst working with them to achieve their aspirations and make positive and sustainable life changes. You will be crucial to making that happen.

You do not need to have previous or formal experience working in an accommodation-based service, as they are seeking people with transferable skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and experience gained from a varied background, who will demonstrate a commitment and passion for the work that they do.

In return, they will provide you with a comprehensive induction, a structured nine month's Trainee programme and plenty of opportunities to learn on the job, through formal training, reflective practices and from experienced colleagues. Throughout your training, you will learn how to provide support to clients, which will enable them to achieve the objectives they have jointly created in their support & action plans.

You will receive increments to your salary at six months and at nine months (subject to successful completion of the Trainee Programme).

As a Trainee Support Worker, you will be expected to work flexible hours, which will involve working early, late and occasional weekends.

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant

Their attractive benefits package includes:

  • A salary increase after successfully completing six months.
  • A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),

  • Comprehensive and integrated training programme designed specifically to develop the skills and knowledge involved in their work
