Rate: £19 p/h

Day Shifts: 40 hrs p/w

Shift Times: 07:15 am - 19:30 pm or 07:15 am - 13:00 pm

As part of your wide range of responsibilities, you can expect to plan rotas, recruit, train and mentor staff and build relationships with local regulators and social services. In the role of Unit Nurse Manager (General), you'll have the freedom and autonomy to take your unit from strength to strength, with plenty of opportunities for professional development along the way.

About The Home:

The home is a purpose-built nursing home with a general nursing unit and a dedicated dementia unit.

Set in a semi-rural area of Guiseley, fringing upon both Otley and Ilkley. It is close to two large cities, Leeds and Bradford, which are both accessible by a regular bus service or a train from Guiseley Station.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities for the Unit Nurse Manager (RGN)

  • Assistance with daily management of the home.
  • Take responsibility for the running of the home in the absence of the registered manager.
  • Help the registered manager with the general management of the home working under their guidance and leadership.
  • Support the registered manager produce and maintain the systems and procedures for auditing and assuring quality of care provided by the home.

Skills and experience for the Unit Nurse Manager (RGN):

  • Understand care planning processes and have experience of writing care plans.
  • Experience of working with residents with various health needs.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop staff.
  • A proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to contribute to, monitor and implement changes that improvement service delivery and outcomes for residents.
