VP, Clinical and Post-Market Practice

The VP, Clinical and Post-Market Practice is responsible for the RQM+ Balanced Scorecard for the Practice. This leader drives the RQM+ balanced scorecard goals: Business Growth, Profit Margin, Utilization, Employee Satisfaction, and Customer Satisfaction. This role serves as a Business Leader internally and externally, driving the overall revenue, profitability, technical quality, and strategic advancement of the Practice. This role’s priority is to achieve the following for the Practice, while balancing the goals of the larger RQM+ organization: 1) Balanced Scorecard for the Practice, 2) Sales Revenue Generation and Gross Margin achieved and 3) Technical and Quality execution and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Overall business leader, responsible for/oversees the entire Practice Profit & Loss (P&L); responsible for continued Practice growth (growth targets)

Oversee strategic practice-related business expansion initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring business profitability and technical quality.

Leader in providing practice input into the commercialization plans to ensure achievement of balanced scorecard metrics; take a holistic view of commercialization and drive success and growth within the Practice and across the RQM+ organization.

Highest client-facing advisor and contact; Maintain and build relationships with top revenue-generating and/or risk-based clients to ensure profitability and satisfaction of current programs and drive client and program expansion.

Assist the Business Development team in developing strategic commercialization plans, closing client programs (sale), and ensuring proposed projects are achievable within the schedule and gross margins planned.

Responsible for the people within the Practice in alignment with the RQM+ strategy. This includes oversight on utilization and future resource needs, cultural connection and engagement, and employee performance, feedback, and development.

Responsible for overarching practice strategic resourcing and talent management plans.

Ensure all Practice programs and projects are profitable, meet targets, and exceed customer expectations.

Participate in the RQM+ strategic planning process and lead any resulting actions/plans for the Clinical and Post-Market Practice.

Oversee business enhancement prioritization and execution within the Practice; measure success and provide feedback.

Periodically attend Executive Committee and Board Meetings to share Practice strategy and performance updates.

Oversee the forecasting and budgeting process within the Practice in partnership with Finance.

Participate in hiring process as needed; assist HR and interview candidates for critical roles.

Key Requirements

Bachelor level degree in engineering or a technical field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Minimum 20 years’ experience in the medical device industry, required.

Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in acting in a leadership role within a medical device company or consultancy in operations, regulatory, and/or quality.

Previous consulting experience, required.

Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations and EU Medical Devices and In-Vitro Diagnostic Regulations (EU MDR/IVDR), required.

Strong Business Acumen, with the ability to think strategically and respond appropriately to customer and employee needs.

An innovative and motivational mentality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high quality work.

Lead and motivate teams and simultaneously manage several high-profile programs.

High performance orientation, a detail orientation, and strong organization skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills as well as experience working collaboratively with executive leaders, clients, employees, and the medical device industry.

Ability to develop and deliver presentations, as well as professional written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Confident and goal oriented.

Current working knowledge of the industry and the willingness to maintain your knowledge.

Advanced computer skills including Microsoft business applications.

Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel at least 25% of the time
